Vichy - Pureté Thermale

Posted by The K Diaries at 16:15 1 comments
Now, I have always said that Eye Make-Up Removers are just a waste of money, you can remove eye make-up plenty of other ways. However, last time I was in Boots there was a 3 for 2 offer on skincare, so I thought why not. (Btw, the 3 for 2 offer is still on at Boots, and the range is massive! Definitely worth trying out new products or stocking up on favourites!)

I went for the Vichy Pureté Thermale for sensitive eyes.

Recently my eyes have started to feel red and sore after I have removed my eye make-up and in the morning they're always a bit dark from excess mascara that I didn't remove. Dark eyes first thing in the morning are already bad, but even darker eyes due to the remains of yesterday's make-up - simply unforgiveable.

My Verdict?

I LOVE IT. I feel absolutely silly that it has taken me this long to try an eye make-up remover. This one costs £10, which is a lot, but honestly I will definitely be repurchasing. It smells heavenly, and removes make-up amazingly.

I travel quite a lot, (either to the boyfriends for the night or back home for the weekend), and I must say even though its 150ml which isn't exactly travel size it will be coming everywhere with me, I even took it to Brighton on Friday for one night!

Birchbox March 2013

Posted by The K Diaries at 15:04 0 comments

So I've been a GlossyBox addict for a while now and I've always had my eye on JolieBox; As you probably all know, JolieBox have recently had a revamp and changed name to BirchBox.

Anyway, I couldn't resist, I have officially switched to BirchBox.

When the buzzer rung this morning, I hurriedly went down to collect my lovely hot pink BirchBox...

I love that the BirchBox has this little pink protective bag!

A list of all the goodies I received, my favourite has to be the Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner - (this is actually the normal full size you would buy!)

I am going to try it out tomorrow, but I must say I'm already a fan, dried super quick and was hard to budge from my hand!

My other exciting product was this RMK Cleansing Balm which I will be using tonight. Now, the fragrance is Rose, and I know a lot of you will immediately screw up your nose, but seriously, it's not an 'Old Lady' sort of rose, it's a nicer, gentler smell, and I imagine at night it will just be divine to sleep with.

I love that the BirchBox comes with a 'Lifestyle Extra', super cute touch, and this month it was Lindt Chocolates in a tin heart, simply lovely.

My one disappointment in the box is the 'La Sultane De Saba' Body Lotion with Argan Oil; it looks like the kind of sample you would find in a hotel, it does smell lovely but nothing special.

Another big plus of BirchBox is that you can buy the full sized samples online from BirchBox, plus more products from the brands and products from previous months. I think this is a really good idea, plus it exposes you to brands you may never have encountered before.

Overall, I loved my BirchBox and I am already looking forward to April. With P&P, a BirchBox delivered to your door monthly is £12.95, I think this is a great inexpensive way to be able to try out new brands that you may not have been able to otherwise.

BirchBox and GlossyBox both do a 'points' scheme which is a brilliant idea, especially for BirchBox as you collect points by buying from them, and in return can get a free box one month!

New Pandora

Posted by The K Diaries at 11:46 0 comments
So my lovely friends bought me a new Pandora ring for my birthday!

I'm the first birthday of the year but for each of our birthdays we're going to buy for each other, so by August we'll all be matching.

Just a cute idea to keep us together even though we live all around the UK!

It is in the Pandora birthstone range, but we're all cheeky and are buying the stone we like the most. I went for September which is this gorgeous deep blue Lapis Lazuli.

This ring brings my collection to 4; I love Pandora rings, I mix and match with them and stack them everyday. My only problem with them is that I have really small hands/fingers so even the smallest size ring, (50/K) is a little loose.

Murad Goodies

Posted by The K Diaries at 12:44 0 comments
So I treated myself to some Murad products last month, as a sort of, birthday present to myself... Totally acceptable right?

Anyway, if you spent over a certain amount you got a full size Toner free of your choice... I couldn't say no!

I went for the 'Perfect Balance' kit, I wasn't sure what to buy so thought a kit would be the ideal starter.
My skin is oily/combination and the products in this kit suit my skin to the T, pun intended.

(On a side note, I have two annoying points about this kit, as you can see above the sticker on the T-Zone Pore Refining Gel is wonky and not placed smoothly; secondly, the lid to the toner was broken in the box when it arrived, which is an issue for traveling as it has a spray top. I may just being petty but for the price of Murad's product I definitely did not expect any imperfections.)

Let's start with the T-Zone Pore Refining Gel, this gel is supposed to unclog pores and make them appear smaller and you apply it after cleansing and toning.
My verdict? I love it, I've been using it just in the mornings for about 2 weeks now and I have seriously noticed a difference, would recommended to any girl worrying about pores.

The Oil-Control Mattifier with SPF 15 - this product is pretty self explanatory - now, I liked it, and it helped a bit with shine but I'm not completely sold by it, in simple terms, I'll use it but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Moving on to the Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes... After applying my eyes did feel refreshed and a bit awoken, however I was a bit perplexed by this product within the kit as it helps with signs of ageing around the eyes and everything else in this kit is targeted to a slightly more younger type of skin. I do enjoy using it though!

Next... The Blemish Treatment Concealer in Light, so this is a concealer that also helps target any breakouts and at the same time preventing them. Well, I can't say much about this product as I have not yet had a blemish! The concealer side of the product... It is quite a creamy concealer, although I found it didn't stay on my skin for long.

So I mentioned a free toner... I went for the Essential-C Toner...

Firstly, it smells lush! It has 'Bitter Orange Flower' in, it's like a citrus wake up. You know how well a cold glass of OJ is in the morning? Well imagine the equivalent of that for your face, it's amazing.

Also, it was the first ever 'spray' toner I have used so I was quite hesitant about how it would go down, you can spray straight onto your face or onto a cotton pad. I actually quite like that it's a spray now, you spritz it over and it gives a sort of freshness to your face that you normally wouldn't get by applying with a cotton pad. Anyway, I then use a cotton pad to remove the toner gently.

Basically, I love this product, perfect for the morning and gives me a buzz at the start of my day!
